Environment In The News

Good afternoon, SEACers!
I have recently posted articles regarding environmental issues and their place in politics. However, it seems that many people distrust environmentalism (and its activists) because it can function as a deeply controversial and divisive political issue. Though governmental policy or political activism is an appropriate approach to regulating human impact on the environment, there are other ways to convince people to care for the natural world. Religious doctrine, for example, can provide followers with moral guidelines regarding protection of the environment.

Check out this New York Times article to discover how religion has urged some Kansas residents to actively conserve energy.

This NPR interview discusses how religion and science can be compatible.
